About Us

Welcome to the Official Adrian Mole Merchandise Shop

We're a small, passionate team based right here in Leicester — the very city where Sue Townsend lived, wrote, and gave the world its most endearingly self-important diarist. Walking these streets, we feel the connection to Adrian's world every single day, and we wanted to create something that lets fans everywhere carry a little piece of that with them.

Sue Townsend's Legacy

Sue Townsend was Britain's favourite comic author. For over thirty years after the publication of her iconic 1982 bestseller The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾, with great humour, style and compassion, she chronicled the lives of ordinary people in Britain through times of upheaval and social change.

The first Adrian Mole book sold over 20 million copies and was translated into 48 languages, and are still in print across the world today. All eight Mole books are bestsellers and acknowledged comic classics.

She wrote numerous other bestselling novels, comic and serious,  and many well-received successful plays.

Sue died in Leicester in 2014, with the final Mole book unfinished.

Wear the Words. Carry the Legacy.

Every item in our shop is a little love letter to Sue's work and to the fans who've grown up (or grown older, at least) alongside Adrian. Whether you're sipping your morning tea from an Adrian Mole mug, carrying your shopping in a tote bag, or gifting a greeting card to a fellow intellectual, you're keeping the spirit of one of literature's greatest characters alive.
